Adobe Fireworks Alternatives
Photoshop/Graphics Program...help?
G'day~!
Uh. Okay, well I'm such a newb when it comes to these things. To put it simply, I just want a program where I can draw/sketch etc.
I always hear about Photoshop, and my mother was going to put up the money for it...which I'm not going to let her do because:
A.) I am a little girl [well, 15 isn't so little, but this program obviously isn't a toy now that I've read up on it...]
B.) It's supposedly really hard to learn, and I don't have time to sit around scratching my head when all I want to do is draw.
C.) 500-something dollars is flipping ridiculous if there is another method O___O"
Alternative programs; are there any for what I wish to do? I've heard about Adobe Fireworks. Yes? No?

Fireworks is a program for PNG native format. Not that much good .
Go for some Vector based solution like Flash , Inkscape etc.
Some times Photoshop is good when you start to compare with other alternative.
My opinion is start photoshop it is worth the time spent .
Read some e-books or just simply try out the tools in photoshop.
