Terrace Box Seats At Hollywood Bowl?
I am thinking about purchasing some tickets to the Bowl and they have the Terrace Boxes available. This will be an event with video screens and also fireworks, in addition to music. My concern is this: I absolutely hate having to balance my dinner on my lap! That's one of the reasons I don't go to the Bowl very often... I really want a table. I looked online and saw the canvas chairs... but is there some kind of table there so you aren't balancing your plate? Or, is it better to spring the extra 11 bucks to get the Garden boxes, do they have a bona fide table? Thanks!
Do what I and many others do and have done. Bring along your own little folding table. It's perfectly okay to do so. You can carry in anything you can carry under one arm. I've been to the Bowl a number of times. Usually we don't eat there (drinks, yes) because we're there for the music. On the few times we (the girlfriend and I) did eat I carried in a folding canvas director's chair. If you don't raise up the arms or seat back it makes a nice little table. But you can get any number of different little folding tables. I've seen the style range from mini-tables, small card table types and even hand-made ones. But your little table has to be that little: It can't hang out onto the seats in front of you.
Your best bet is to bring along a regular folding TV tray.
Many people don't eat during the concert but picnic beforehand or use the restaurant. If you decide to do the picnic thing make plans to get there a little early because the picnic tables are not reserved. Still, you could always picnic on the lawn. Many do.
