children and corsets?

so my daughter is 4 this year and she enjoys to dress up for our local medieval festival with her uncle. she has been eyeing off my corset and would like one made into her gown for this year. would it be ok if it were replaced with plastic boning?
there were children in corsets way back when marie antionette was on her tuffet.

but i should of added that of course common sence would over rule with my child being in one. it would be loose. probably in light fabrics to keep it looking young and girly but to keep the structure and over all image to the outfit. just a princess dress not made by disney.

If your medieval festival stresses historical accuracy, then don't do it. If the festival is more for fun, and you're willing to take on a corset for a costume for someone who will grow out of it by next year, then go for it!
